Will Fort Collins festivals be happening this year?

Great news for festival lovers, it’s looking promising for at least some of our beloved festivals to be returning this year. With Covid-19 hindering festivals in summer 2020, many of us were wondering if they we’d be lucky enough to have them in 2021.

Some of Fort Collins soonest events are keeping it virtual this year. The Sustainable Living Association will be doing the Earth Day celebration online, April 22nd -24th and FoCoMX will be holding a virtual music festival April 23rd - 25th. Both of these are still definitely worth checking out.

Taste of Fort Collins is traditionally the first major festival of the summer and is usually scheduled for the beginning of June. The latest news is that it’s been moved to July 24th and 25th. Tickets aren’t on sale yet, but you can keep an eye on their website or follow the Taste of Fort Collins Facebook Page for updates. Spin Doctors and Nelly have been announced to headline this event at Washington Park. If the event is anything like years past, there will be plenty of tasty eats to satisfy any foodie.

The 31st Colorado Brewers Festivals is TBD. I haven’t been able to find any recent updates on this popular event which is usually scheduled the later half of June. In recent years it’s been held inside the CSU Stadium. Perhaps if they move it back to an outdoor event, there’s a chance we’ll see it back this year. Check their website or follow Colorado Brewers Festival Facebook page for updates.

Bohemian Nights at New West Fest is one of Fort Collins most beloved festivals every year. Three days of free live music on several stages throughout Old Town. There is no shortage of food trucks and kid’s activities also. Although New West Fest has not been officially announced for 2021, it is slated for August 13th -15th. You can go to their website or follow the Bohemian Nights Facebook page for updates. I’m crossing my fingers!

Tour De Fat is certainly Fort Collins most festive festival. Hosted by New Belgium Brewery and traditionally on labor day weekend. The one day event kicks off with a costumed cyclist parade (wild costumes encouraged) and followed by a day of food, music, interesting stage acts and beer. 2021 is New Belgiums 30th anniversary so I sure hope we’ll get to celebrate in person. Check their website or follow the Tour De Fat Facebook page for updates.

No word yet on the Peach Festival or FORToberfest which usually happen towards the end of the Summer.

With Taste of Fort Collins moving forward with a July event, I am feeling optimistic that some of these other wonderful festivals will be able to do in personal as well. I for one am ready for some sunny days with good food and music!
